information display faulty?

Owned my 2002 octavia for a day so far and me being me totally overlooked having no clock/information display for the whole 150 mile journey home.  

I had a satnav plugged in the whole way so just relied on that for time, so wasnt until this evening i realised that where the clock should be is also the information display.  

are the milometer and trip computer displays run off separate fuses or do i have a wiring fault!?
