VCDS Fault code - 00526

Recommended Posts

Bit of a dilema, MOT is due on the Roomster 14th April.

Fitted an Amundsen+ last weekend to the Roomy and during the course of j0hn and I blew a fuse or two :giggle:

All sorted now apart from the fault code below, which means that the ESP light is on on the dash and consequently a FAIL.

In my head 'open circuit' is usually a fuse (not had time to check all of these, and won't ahead of the morning of the MOT).

Is there anything else I can rule out (or more specifically j0hn) as I'm in Kent without the car until next weekend.

TIA

First thing I would check for is a blown brake light bulb, they used to cause all sorts of false "brake light switch" errors on my old Alhambra - worth a look for the 10 seconds it would take

Should have written that those were checked when car was first scanned, but thanks for the input

brake light switch has two sets of contacts, 1 for the actual brake lights and the other for engine management, have had similar on swmbo's mk1 fabia vrs replace the brake light switch all is good, PITA to get to though,

if you blew a few fuses changing the radio get a job lot ready if you do the switch :)
