  1. In one of my Roomsters (same setup) it was not enough to push the seat back by hand. It needed leg power! I had to get into the seat, then slide it fully forward, then push it back hard against the stop before the mechanism would allow me to lift the seat.
  2. And in my experience, a 20x more pleasant, useful and enjoyable place to be.
  3. At the end of January 2024, All Electric ceased to be a Skoda dealer and became a KGM (SsangYong) dealer. All Electric remains an authorised & approved service & maintenance facility for Skoda cars employing the same staff and Skoda trained technicians. Here is a letter received from All Electric a few weeks ago:
  4. Hi Stewart. A Brisky member posted a picture of this cover just after I bought my first Roomster in 2009. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the thread in which it was posted. The cover was not an elegant solution to the gap between parcel shelf and rear seats. My solution was to buy a large, black bath towel which I laid over the contents of the boot. It was almost impossible to see this towel (and hence the contents of the boot) when viewed through the tinted side windows. Despite this dumb design "feature", I consider my Roomster Scout the best car I have owned in fifty years of motoring.
  5. I looked in the mirror
  6. I think what might have happened is that the washer fluid within the pipe has frozen at the point where the pipe enters the tailgate. Opening the tailgate in this condition could have damaged the pipe.
  7. Type "Febi repair kit Skoda Yeti tailgate" into the Bay of E. Good luck!
  8. I'm confused @Expatman. Why are you selling yours? And won't you have similar regrets?
  9. I've been a member of the UK's largest breakdown recovery service for many years. Although I have not used their services during that time, they attempted to increase the premium by £100 at renewal this year. A quick phone call to inform them I could get a similar service from the second largest breakdown company for £83 less had the desired effect. An immediate reduction in premium of £83. Proof once again that there is no reward for loyalty.
  10. Check for broken wires under the shroud between top of tailgate and body of car. This is a known weakness on Roomsters.
  11. Sounds to me like a sticky centre console button. Have you've spilt your coffee over it at some time?
  12. I've had two Roomsters in the past, both with fixed glass roofs. I miss this feature dreadfully on my Yeti. Were I in Prezafab's position, I would certainly consider an L&K with no leak damage and taping up the sunroof with Gorilla or Helicopter tape.
  13. Glad I'm not the only one...
  14. I actually LIKED my Allegro estate. I'd better get my coat too...
  15. Enjoy your new car @Jim2015 After 15 years of Skoda ownership, I too shall look to other manufacturers for my next car for all the reasons you mention. Corolla will certainly be on my list.
  16. @J.R. You have highlighted many of the reasons why Roomster remains my all time favourite car in 55 years of motoring. Another of Roomster's trump cards was that the spare wheel sat in a well below the load area without need for a variofloor. Yet another trump card (for me anyway) was the availability of a fixed glass roof, which I miss dreadfully on my Yeti. I love my Yeti - but if Skoda were to make another Roomster, I'd have one in a heartbeat.
  17. A few weeks ago at 5 o'clock one morning, I looked out of my bedroom window and saw a wallet on the footpath. I put on a coat and retrieved the wallet, and found it contained a dozen personal cards including student card, bank card and driving licence. I was anxious to return the wallet to its owner before he'd had chance to alert the authorities to his loss so I got dressed, put the wallet into an envelope with a note of my address (in case this was a police incident) then drove five miles to the owner's address to put the wallet through his letterbox. Now I like to think what goes around, comes around. I like to think that if ever I were to lose my own wallet then someone out there would be similarly pleased to return my wallet to me. For this reason I neither wanted nor expected reward for my actions. That said, a simple "Thank you" would have been nice...
  18. Skoda recommends the air-con is serviced every 2 years. My local main dealer (who services my Yeti) informs me they would not routinely service the air-con unless there was a problem with it. I am no major fan of the dealer, but I'll give them credit for explaining this. My Yeti is coming up to 7 years old and the air-con has never been serviced, but still functions correctly. I'll ask the dealer again about the air-con servicing when Yeti goes in for its 8th service.
  19. That's what I thought In similar vein, my DSG auto will not start unless I have my foot on the brake. If I attempt to start with my foot off the brake, I get the message "Depress the Brake!" My understanding is that these are safety features to prevent the car from lurching forward if the engine is started with the transmission in gear.
  20. ''Twas that time for me, too. 14 years green now 👍
  21. You've reminded me of a sign I saw on a driving instructor's car that warned of "sudden breaking". But the car was a S**troen, so maybe the sign was grammatically correct.
  22. I remain grateful to @Expatman for the help he gave me in my attempt to secure 16" wheels on my Yeti Drive. Sadly, the gate shut before I was able to do this. I had the choice of Yeti Drive with 17" wheels or no Yeti at all.
  23. Hi Hawkander and welcome to Briskoda. Have a look on the Bay of E for "Febi Wiring Harness / Cable Repair Kit for door". A couple of guys on the Yeti Forum have used these successfully, and I expect there would also be a version for the Fabia II
