Octavia estate rear washer issue

Featured Replies

I have a two week old octavia estate and the rear washer just seems to pour water onto the window at the top and doesn't produce a good jet or spray across the window.

The jet seems to be aimed directly at the inside of the curved plastic cover section, which I would have thought should create a spray pattern but doesn't. There seems no way to angle the jet down towards the rear window so I am mystified as to how to get a nice spray pattern!

I am trying to avoid going back to the dealer as it seems such a simple issue (or not as the case may be) so does any one else have a solution?

My last octavia estate didn't have this problem.

I've had mine for just over a month & don't think I've used the rear washer yet so gave it a try.  Doesn't create a spray pattern, just runs fluid onto the top of the rear screen but fairly effective as the wiper takes it across & does the job.

Yep,  mines the same, I think thats just the way they are?

The nozzle should be positionable ?, get a pin, carefully insert it into the nozzle hole, and gently manoeuvre it into position, you might get a better spray jet.

You can adjust it with a pin but due to the curve of the glass it just hits the top and runs down, works fine though.

Iv Adjusted mine so that it hits the wiper just as it comes up to vertical, then the water gets scattered better than it did just as the op states pouring onto the screen

It works the same way it did in all my previous estates and hatchbacks, which is by spraying fluid on the wiper that then proceeds to clean the rear window. The positive thing about the washer on the Octavia is that is sprays quite a lot of fluid before the wiper starts to operate, so there's very little risk of wiping a dry glass.
