  • Yup and I'll still insist in logs for anything other then a brand new unit from garret or kkk. Seen so many "setup" turbo's that needed adjustment. This isn't disrespect to XMan, I can't fault his tur

  • I blame lofty. He started this thread lol though I do like a good thread banter. Riddle me this. 1. Faboka said "I don't want to map the car in person as 1 day isn't going to me enough to get it per

  • Holy **** you never cease to amaze me how clueless you are!!!!!   You must be the receptionist at the MOT centre surely?

i wanted to visit him but he told me we do it over logs only that wern't good enough with the money i spent on mods

I had to send logs once id fitted the new Turbo in order that he could see if the Actuator and stop screw were set correctly. Once I'd done that and he'd established that no mechanical adjustments were required it was as simple as being patient until he could get me in.

i was assured by xman not to touch that as it was all set up he still insisted he wanted to do the whole thing through logs which imo is not good enough

I had nothing but a top quality quality experience when I had my car mapped.

It was a pleasure dealing with John and his customer service was top quality.

Can't rate him any higher myself. I'd consider myself a pest to him with silly questions and requests which he was more than patient to help me with, even without remapping questions.

always 1 tit!

John is one of the friendliest guys you'll ever meet. His maps are amazing and he goes FAR above and beyond what mappers would usually do. So much so that I feel like I should be paying him more for the work he has done!

Atleast you admit it I suppose, well done as we've all agreed thats what you are for a long time. :)

Faboka also helped me out last year, I too admired his patience and advice.

So Steve, please explain to me why doing it all through logs isn't good enough?

Been considering using Faboka for my next map.

Surely the only difference is that John doesn't have a rolling road?

Surely on a rolling road all they do is take logs?

Meh I don't know.

What I do know is John is a top fella.

Rolling road makes it safer and easier to view curves but in the real world logs are just as good to help with on road mapping as it shows real road events which an RR may not be able to replicate

The other thing to consider is that a turbodiesel can't be damaged by running it in an imperfect state of tune so road testing while logging is more than good enough.

The same cannot be said for petrol engines where excessive leaning or spark advance can melt a piston if not spotted quickly.

I don't agree with petrol tuning, I've done many remote tuning of petrols over the years on standalones providing they have a knock sensor and you can interpret it.

Where's the multiply like button when you need one :(

Cheers Lofty, was a pleasure mapping your turbo. Different then all the GTB Powered sheep I've been doing lately.

Oh I forgot to add if I remember correctly I told you to go to someone else for the map "who could tailor to your specific needs" [emoji16]

Not even an offer of beer tokens?

:(

Not even a can of coke :(

Bloke should be bloody ashamed of himself

Not even a can of coke :(

As I've found out with a lot of the work I've been doing the moment you do something on the cheap / free people will take advantage of you, sad state of society we live in today

i payed dna tuning £200 for a base map that run the dssr injectors until i got for my live map on the weekend costing another £300 so not free in my eyes

Agree with John here (seen it with my own eyes and logs) I was getting boost creep and had to almost fully wind out the actuator rod on my turbo (thanks to Matt for helping me)
