Considering a citigo for daughter

Featured Replies

I made sure to get my insurance with direct line,  not the cheapest but it doesn't change when you pass your test!

Great car to learn to drive in and even better as a first car. Insurance is a lot better than my previous car, and easier to drive.

I've both my other half (learning) and brother (licence for only 2 years) in a high rate post code with current insurer before I even shop about £450 a year.

Very solid and reliable shame I'm selling mine but I need a bigger car.

I'm 17 with a very fresh license, My insurance sky-rocketed after I passed my test, I got a 2012 SE as my first car and so far it has been great, the insurance is just under a grand with black box fitted, it is all dependent on what your personal preference is between the Seat mii and Skoda citigo

Although not @ 17 but when my brother went from learner to pasted it double my insurance!! He was already as a named driver.

Hi, my two pennorth..............FWIW !!

Citigo is an excellent little car for a new driver.

I would suggest a good used model to start, thereby avoiding £1500+ VAT

Also, though it sounds grumpy, maybe avoid getting the PID initially as new drivers don't need any extra distractions ?

Normally I'd agree on the used car bit, but I'd sooner pay that bit extra for piece of mind on a brand new car than blow a load on interest to buy a used one, plus you get 3 years free servicing to boot

yes 0% makes buying new more attractive in my eyes. Although interest rates are quite low it's still a good saving.

Just found out this that a female friend of mine and her husband, have forked out for both their 2 daughters to have an SE, on the latest PCP financial and ownership support  package - they are really pleased with their cars.
