Mk3 MFSW into a pre-FL Mk2

Featured Replies

I want to fit a MK3 steering wheel into my Pre-FL MK2, can it be done and work properly.

Apart from a wheel and airbag, controller, airbag wire, slip ring and new wiper switch, what else do I need? I've also seen that in some instances the buttons have been swapped out for some FL Superb buttons.

Will it work?

Look at Eddie-nl's thread, I think he had to fit Superb switches in place of Octavia ones to make things talk to each other, so not as straightforward as you might think

I did have a look at that Bryan but Eddie's is a facelift. I know that it'll all go together on mine but I just don't know if it'll work (hence the cars that have mk5 gti wheels fitted and so on).

Got you, I keep forgetting Eddie's is a facelift

I went for the easy option of the Mk5 Golf GTi wheel, as the wheels on the facelift model wouldn't communicate, and I really don't have a problem with the VW badge in the middle, plus I actually preferred it to the Mk6 version

I'm sure if you PM Eddie direct he'll fill you in with the best advice available

5E0 number  MFSW will not work

but "Octavia III style" ( late  SuperB and new Yeti) will work

on a pre-facelift button fuctions are limited

If you upgrade to a facelift cluster then all will work fine

Hmmmmm....cheers Ed.

I need to PM you again and sort out a date/time for you to do the OPS retrofit we spoke about. What's a facelift cluster going to cost me?
