drumming noise

Featured Replies

Hi all,  just purchased a new fab estate and very pleased with the overall car, one problem I have found is when the rear windows are open and the speed is more than 30mph there is a drumming noise from the wind inside the car and the higher the speed the louder it gets, any one found this with other models and how did they get rid of it,I was looking at window wind/rain deflectors but not sure if this would solve the problem.  not something you think about when having a test drive. not a big problem but one which is spoiling a good motor.

Open one of front windows slightly.

Is the noise from the rear Boot Area Cover causing the drumming noise.

If you roll it in, is the noise still there?

I doubt very much that any designer gave thoughts to anyone driving at over 30mph with the rear windows open.

Not something i think many people do other than on very sunny days and then you are getting the lovely warm blowy feeling.

Was there no issues in the Roomster driving with the rear windows open?

Open one of front windows slightly.

2nd that, I get the same in my Astra Estate

The only drumming sound I get is me on the steering wheel. :)

Hi goneoffski, their was some noise on the Roomster but not as bad as on the Fab, opening of the windows is for the benefit of the dogs, otherwise would not be open.
