Hoovering hard to reach places

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just wondering if anybody has any tips or tools that I can get for my vacuum cleaner to get to those hard to reach 'crevices' between seat runners and door sills etc

I just can't get my vacuum cleaner attachment close enough to get to the annoying fluff and junk that gathers down there!

Thanks in advance!

Last year i was recommended this add-on kit for Vax machines (altho pretty generic fittings)

It has some useful little add-on's and for the £15 it was at the time - a real bargain.

With this plus a decent selection of detailing brushes for the interior - you should be able to achieve good results

Aldi or Netto, don't recall which one sell a similar kit every now & then. They are great for the little bits of bread crumbs etc in those awkward places.

I use a paint brush with tape wrapped round it (to stop the metal bits scratching) and just brush the crud out.

That's the cheap option.

Nice one chaps! I've got a Vax so I may have to invest! :-)

Thanks!

Mine is a spare crevice tool with a flexible pipe attached , the whole thing held with gaffer tape , not pretty but gets what the brush cant

Can you also buy thinner crevice tools? I as well as getting the blooming thing near to there spaces, I also find that my Vax crevice tool is a little to thick to get between the front seats runners and the door sill/centre console.

It was difficult on the Fabia's, but even harder on the BMW!

I use this with my VAX:

I find the flexable pipe very useful

Cheap enough too

I picked up a long flexible crevice tool (think it was called a radiator crevice tool) from Aldi a while back - similar to those above but only a few quid.

Been there before..... gaffa-taped a drinks straw to the smallest vac accessory pipe to clear out the headlamp unit of dead flies/midgies!

Oh and used the same trick on Alan's vRS headlamp when he got flakes of paint inside the headlamp :giggle:

I need to get myself one of these tools/kits.

think I'll wait to get home from work before i Google tool and crevice in the same query though.

I've ordered an extra long crevice tool......

ooo errr the misses may get excited if she reads any of my emails..... :p

I've got that vax kit mentioned above, but have thus far not used the vax other than to clean my seats :p

I managed to find a thinner attachment for my Henry Hoover, although I tend to take my seats out once a year to give it a proper hoover and clean.

I cut a bit hose up from an old hose reel and tape one end to fit my hoover :D

Works a treat and fits easily down the sides of the seats etc

Looks like lidl have the crevice tools in now for less than £3...

Found this on Amazon, worth a punt for 7.50!

Does anyone have any tips for how to get stuff like sawdust from the boot carpet?

Use some flexible tubing and some gaffer tape, it's free.

I don't have any flex tubing....

Stiff upholstery brush will do the trick. Can pick them up in Asda fairly cheaply.
