Well done mate, glad to see some common sense. Prestige Car Care big yellow has demoted my Wooly Mammoth into the reserve drying towel box.

Is it the same size Ste?

Yes - cut to exactly the same size Ben - both Paragon and Big Yellow

Although - mine both measure 60 x 70cm..... the Paragon site says 60 x 60cm.

On that point - i think thats the only thing i was disappointed with..... i thought the Big Yellow would have been bigger in size.

Not that it is a problem - its lightweight, easy to wring out the water soaked up, and i'm pleased with how it performs.

Stitching for the emblem mate. Have they just done the emblem through the top layer of MF or is it through the whole cloth?

Ah, missed that bit at the bottom of the picture.

The Logo..I understand now

Cant see it being a problem in the slightest...LOL

Thanks for that Ste. Look forward to hearing how it performs.

Thats interesting ste, like you said performance will tell pretender or identical.

I do wonder whether paragon make the towels and then add the logo, or whether it is a single stage process.  I wonder what they would say to feedback that the towel would be better without the logo>

onto the size thing, I think it was one of the junkman vids where he said he prefers a smallish waffle cloth rather than a big super plush so he could wring it out and carry on.  Cant remember if he said why, maybe to do more than one car?

So it looks like Paragon make the towels for Prestige.

But IMO the stitching is a big fail on the Paragon one, thanks for the update Ste

Hey Guys,

Paragon sell on under own label to a few places I know of and certainly many more.

When I ran the group buy on these I seriously consider going for a big bulk order and just selling these as I really rate the quality to price.

You can normally request the cloths without stitching or wash label if you order a decent amount.

Nice to see the Paragon stuff has caught on.

I'm only aware of the brand due to your group buy, otherwise I'd be blissfully unaware. How many units do they consider a custom order? Can't see me needing several hundred drying towels.

Simon

Im going to be using mine this morning on a car I'm detailing

Ill let you know how I get on

If I find it a little harsh (The cloth itself) I will probably resign it to wheel cleaning only

Im pretty sure though that the stiching on the logo will be no issue at all...we shall see

Watch this space

Just done a maintenance wash on an Audi A6. Declined to do a test with CG Wooly & Big Yellow towels.

Pulled the towels from the boot, over the roof & down the bonnet. Both towels worked well. Looked at the bodywork after & more streaks were evident on Wooly side.

The Big Yellow soaks up water better & is more friendly to use ie not as bulky/heavy. That's not to say the Wooly is bad, it isn't, but IMO the Yellow is better.

Well......I was right and wrong

1. I was right that the logo stiching was no problem at all

2. I was wrong that the cloth was too harsh

Its good...but not as good as my Woolly Mammoths

It soaks up water well, but but I cant do a whole large car in one hit...perhaps if they made one twice as large it would be better

Bloody auto-correct, should say decided....not declined.

Also to add that IMO the reason the Wooly streaks is its too thick to wring out. Where as the Big Yellow is easy to wring out.

Good find.

the other way would be to pickup a few more bits spreading the delivery charge.  The buffing cloth is great value at £2 or so for a 500gsm towel, the glass cloths and general purpose towels are pretty good value too.

Slightly off piste options would be the camping/sports towels.  I don't have a paragon one, but another make.  Really useful if you need a light sweat towel for the gym or a travel towel etc.

I didnt realise that was paragons own ebay shop, I assumed it was a reseller.  Did they do you a deal as you had more than one line?

Depends how much you order/spend with them really mate......

I use the eBay shop for random orders; but Steve @ Paragon is always happy to do a deal.

Btw - I did ask already for you guys - should anyone want to sort a GB (not me of course  :notme: )

50-off on the drying towel would get a good bulk price..... a bit of an ask for our detailing group.

50 is quite an ask, especially as you, chris & nm are already sorted.

Yes indeed - most of our GB's have 20 as a good number/balance to conclude; so i agree.

Still - they would remove logo/stitching on a batch that size.

Crikey, be careful mentioning GB, you'll have the Mod Police after you :giggle:

Joking apart Ste, you might get some joy on Facebook GB pages, just a thought.
