Best place to buy tyres

Featured Replies

Purchased these at the weekend and even though they came with 4 tyres, 3 good condition and 1 not so good, I'm looking to buy 2 new ones for the front. 4a4ff1729e8a48fb3881ee4547b3c76c.jpg

So the question is where do you guys get your tyres from? Any links would be appreciated. I'm looking for 205/40/r17 extra load for mk1 fabia vrs

Blackcircles is pretty cheap providing you know a good garage that will fit them, think its between 10-15 a wheel for fitment.

I have used halfrauds when they have an offer on but I will be honest and say they never seem to do balancing right and once fitted a tyre wrong way round (but that could be just my local halfords).

I have bought tyres online from

Camskill, eBay and Tyres-Pneus. I was also considering buying from Oponeo, MyTyres and Tyre Leader - they all seem to have low prices and good stock. If Costco have an offer that's worth considering. In any event I have the tyres fitted at my one trusted tyre place in Leicester City Centre.

I use camskill then get a local garage to fit them. so far no issues with their service although I think they've stopped the offer of free shipping for 4 or more tyres.

I've used www.bestbuytyres.co.uk 2 or 3 times.

I got mine form camskill, but when I had them fitted had a word with the place and they reconed they could get the same tyres including fitting for about the same price (about a quid difference if that) as it cost me to have them delivered and then fitted by them.

I suggest this as it may save you having to mess around having them delivered etc  which we all know can be a pain.

I've found Oponeo to be quite good.

I use Camskill and had no problems. Good and quick service. Ordered at 12 and arrived 4:30 the next day.  I have used Mytyres for winter tyres, as thay have a much larger selection, however they hare based in Germany so took 7 days to arrive. I am very tempted to try TyreLeader in Oct/Nov as they seem cheap, however I have a feeling they are based in Germany too.

I've also used TyreTraders when Camskil was once had no Rainsports, Good service too.

Use blackcircles as the starting point for cost - last tyres I bought for the vRS and porsche were cheapest from them.

If yr down saaaaf, try neo bros in waltham cross.  They are the only UK distributors for Neuton tyres.  Check out reviews of these tyres on tyrereviews.com.  I've had several sets of these and are a decent mid-range product for a really good price.  They're also on ebay.

I have used ears.co.uk a few times and they seem to be very good price wise. I should be getting either some Yoko paradas or rs3 from them soon for my summers

What are the delivery charges?

What are the delivery charges?

Think it is £3 per tire for next day or day after delivery. It is local to me, so never had them delivered.

They do seem to be the best price I have found for most tyres online

Cheers, think camskil it about the same but thought deliver was higher. Can't remember really though.

Cheers for all the places to go. Will be looking over next couple weeks and I'll let you know who I went with.

Right, really confused me today with the whole tyre size malarkey.

I'm sure when I put the motor in for mot I was told I needed extra load tyres as its heavy. Yet it seems I haven't been given extra load tyres and have been advised I don't need them.

So in a long way to ask such a simple question, what tyres do people have that are running 17" alloys. And also if someone can explain what w's and v's are in tyres I'd be greatly appreciative.

Pretty sure the letters at the end are the speed rating. I think the highest you'll need is W? Don't quote me though.
