Hi, I picked up a 03 fabia yesterday. I've now noticed that the clock lighting is very dim. I've tried using the dimmer next to the light switch but it has no effect on the lighting.

The clock lights come on full power when I turn the engine off and the lights are on but when I start the engine the clock lights go dim again. Any ideas?

Baffled by this. I can only think it's maybe a faulty dimmer switch as there is electronics inside which may be doing something strange once the engines running and the voltage increases.

Pull out the small switch panel where the dimmer switch is and pull the plug out, put a wire between the terminals and switch on, if all is OK then it's the dimmer.
