2L Citroen HDI Engine Sump Required

Featured Replies

I'm after a little help.

I bought a 2005 Citroen Dispatch 900 Enterprise early this month and grounded the sump (on a road I've driven many times before in different vehicles), this has resulted in the sump being cracked & it loosing its oil over a 24hour period.

I'm trying to get a replacement but each time I order one, they always end up being to shallow to cover the oil pick up.

According to my paperwork the engine is type byrhzb, which I believe translates to it being a 2L HDI 110bhp in a van. Upon further investigation I've found an engine code of DW10 ATED (mine is without Aircon but the original sump has the aircon mounting holes).

This is baffling, even the Citroen dealer has ordered a sump (going off the original part number but the supplied sump was still too shallow.

Does anyone know much about these engines and where is a reputable place to try and get a sump?

Thanks

Matthew

I can't be much help locating a sump, but I understand your pain. I had a Berlingo 2.0ltr HDI a while back, and buying service parts/spares etc. was awful. I had to give the part number for the fuel filter to the local motor factors so they could order it in as it was a special one produced just for a few vehicles. Front wishbones were a nightmare to get as well, not to mention the steering rack when I needed one (that took 5 attempts to get it right).

Good luck.

It looks like I keep getting sent a 5L sump & I need a 6L sump.  This is getting to be a nightmare to source, I've already had to hire a van for the last 2 weeks to attend training courses & if I can't get this running this week, I'll have to hire another van for the last week of training. :@

Is removal, cleaning, preparing & welding an option.

How bad is it damaged.?

Give these a try - had a few sumps off them over the years.

Their website's a bit of a mess for finding bits on, but they're alright on the phone.

To be fair, I don't know if it can be repaired. Its an aluminium sump

Aluminium can be welded, you just need to find a specialist. That looks like a relatively straight forward repair for someone who knows what they are doing.
