Here is a video of it driving on the roads and then some internal video, this video will be used in reviews with voice-over added.

Thanks.

Like the sound of this:

"For better access to the boot with the rear seats in place, the parcel shelf can slide down the back of the rear bench and out of the way, '

"Essentially a Mercedes S-Class for the masses"

ummm... quite a statement.

Where is the heated steering wheel?

thanks for uploading. It has decent road presence with those camera angles! I'm slightly disappointed with the rattle from the diesel engine though - is that a 190 ??

I was surprised at the engine noise as well.

As nice as it looks and it does have some good line, I can't help thinking there is something missing - that uniqueness and touch of class from the current model?  Maybe its just me.....

Hi , I believe it ( and all early reviews) are all 2.0 tdi 150 L&K models DSG

I like.it another but I know what your saying, it's not unique anymore, I think they are trying to fit in and make it more Passat, A6 with a bit of BMW thrown in.

And yes I'd dies seem particularly loud especially on start up

Mid 2016 for the estate :-(

Bit disappointed with SIII's driving dynamics from these reviews as I believe they benchmarked 5 Series!! Anyways, that still wouldn't change my mind from not considering SIII

Not an overly inspiring review.  I'm a bit concerned by the comment 'Verging on Passat territory'.  Is the new Passat really that far ahead of the Superb??

Agree...the first drives and reviews of SII back in 2008/2009 were quite impressive and remarkable. I still hope SIII does very well in all markets coz being the flagship model, they need to sell more cars and be more competitive against Modeo, Insignia, Maz6 and even Passat.

We know it stands out in terms of exterior design, interior space and simply clever features but at the same time, it needs to undercut Mondeo & Insignia in terms of pricing and satisfy customers that Superb will offer value of money.

Loving the camera work: the "lurking in the bushes peeping Tom" angle is... interesting.

Well that's more like what I would expect from this new model. Some of the other reviews I've read haven't exactly been very positive. I think the biggest problem with the Superb is that nobody (maybe even Skoda themselves!) can quite place it in a particular segment. It will always straddle D segment / luxury premium and that makes it difficult for some to get their head around it.

Looks promising, I'm happy to wait for a face-lifted estate in a few years perhaps. But for those waiting to change over, it's looking good.

Personally, I need to see the car in the skin before coming to any conclusions about the styling. Like others have mentioned, I like the uniqueness of the current model. I like the twin door arrangement too, so that will be a negative for me.

The centre tunnel intrusion onto my left knee is my only gripe with the current Superb. If this has not been remedied with the new model, I will hold onto my current car.

Looking forward to seeing it in the showrooms.

We have a Czech driver on our fleet, and he told me that the original Superb name is actually Super B. If that is indeed the case then that telegraph reporter needs to be a little less lazy and do his job properly.

Thanks for posting! Very informative and balanced review. I would have like to hear comments about the diesels and interior noise levels but I'm sure there will be plenty of other diesel reviews.

He certainly made his point about the seat sizes!

Mid 2016 for the estate :-(

That is the only source that has said so(from those that I have read...) . As I understand it, the estate comes approximately same time as sedan....

I've just watched a full road test of the Skoda3 car on M6Turbo (popular french motoring show/TV magazine). Surprisingly for the French programme they tested the petrol and diesel with the petrol coming out favourably. Bottom line is they loved it for quality, space and pace.

From that Honest John road test above:

"What if the smart money in the company car park suddenly shifted to Skoda Superbs? That would make everyone who had hammered their PIIDs with an E Class look like yesterday’s men? It could happen. And on the strengths of the new Skoda Superb it might well happen"

VAG will have a problem. Skoda beating Mercs? VW becomes second fiddle with Seat (who are producing some greT little sports hatches). Audi no longer the only premium VAG offering? Shock horror. A nice conundrum to have...
