Thankfully my youngster can't yet RTFM !

After doing some research it seems some modules are capable of coding staging/indication celebration and some aren't. Mine is the latter. Apparently it can be programmed by the likes of Eddie NL but not by using VCDS.

I can't see me doing a 5 hour round trip to get it done tbh, I'm not overly fussed by it and was more interested in the one click door opening so am happy I could at least do this. I'm looking at the possibility of upgrading the dials anyway

Are the problem modules themselves upgradable?

 

Mk5 Golf can bus units can have their firmware updated or replaced if you're rich, and steering modules, BCM etc can be replaced for later versions with no issues.

Not sure tbh , I've contacted Eddie about changing my cluster now anyway so will ask at some point
