Reversing camera

Recommended Posts

Hi just fitted reversing camera to my superb series 11 2012. When I select reverse with engine running the camera won't work ,if I stop the engine and leave ignition on it works but soon as I start engine it it goes off .i am limited with my electrical knowledge but even to me it doesn't make sense as if there power there it should work. Any ideas gratefully received

It's not just about powering the camera. It also needs a 'on' signal to work correctly. I wired the camera into the reversing light bulb, so when i select reverse, the camera comes on. Did you install it yourself? And also did you get the coding done after install? It's not just plug and play, the camera needs to be enabled using something like vcds.

This one has its own monitor so should work by just connecting camera to reverse lights and monitor to 12volt supply

I suggest that you disconnect the feeds and measure them again to prove that they are feeds with the engine off and on.

It is just possible that what you thought was a ground is a switched live.

Worth checking

Definitely power to it with or without engine running. Currently running it via an ignition fed live just switch on when needed and works ok. But won't work wired to reverse feed with engine running
