Columbus On Dashboard

Featured Replies

Was working fine but has suddenly stopped & all that shows is Skoda Navigation.

Can still use main unit as normal.

Have tried all settings for navigation, media & system without being able to get it working again.

Anyone any ideas?

I've seen this happen a couple of times. The next time I started the car it was back to normal again.

Have you tried a hard reset ? Ours would do this from time to time

Try this for hard reset

Hold down <, > & i at the same time.

Good luck

My current insignia does this and either parking up for 20 mins or disconnect and reconnect the battery seems to do it. Was hoping I was leaving this glitch behind when I get my superb ( hopefully next week)

It also happens to me intermittently. Had it checked before but no faults showing or issues with software. I do find that pressing buttons on the Columbus very soon after switching on the ignition can cause this e.g. trying to select a radio station or a phone book entry on the head unit within the first 20 or 30 seconds seems to cause the system to crash.

I try not to touch the unit until it has booted up fully and this appears to minimise the amount of times this happens

Mine used to do it if we'd had heavy or persistent rain , think there may have been a small leak on the roof aerial

Yep, mine went completely silent the other day despite anything I tried, Hard reset sorted it out and has been fine since.

OK, might sound thick here. Arrow keys on steering wheel, yes? Where is rhe i key?

On the Columbus unit each side of the CD slot <> on one side i on the other, hold all three down for about 10 seconds

This video shows the combination of buttons if still not sure, the first part is soft reset, then from about 1 minute onwards for the hard reset

Keys on the unit itself. If you've got a newer model like mine, the "i" button has been replaced by the voice control button with a sort of microphone image.

Indeed it is a microphone symbol. Sadly several attempts at a hard reset haven't solved the fault.
