Is Climate display possible on the columbus vis vcds?

Featured Replies

Going back to mk6 golf era, it had the climate and heater functions displayable on the head unit. Wanted it on my mk5 but it wasn't possible. Presuming the octy3 is based on the mk7 golf platform, is it possible on the columbus for instance via some vcds work or am i barking up the wrong tree?

Cheers

If you press the "Setup" button on the climate control, you get a nice graphic of the climate system functions, heating cooling etc & a button which takes you to the settings.

I think you can get to the same menu if you press "menu" on the columbus & choose the climate icon (I'll have to check this when I go back to the car tonight tough).

Yeah I have to say it is a bit of a shame that when you make a climate change that the setup screen doesnt pop up for say 5 secs or so following the change as it did on the older infotainment....perhaps it can be coded?

Surely this is just doubling up on information that's already displayed?

I've only every looked at the screen once, to set it to "Auto" and "Light" profile.

Activated the automatic screen heating & that was it.

I didn't touch it since then.

If you have it in manual mode, most of the settings are anyway displayed on the digital readout of the climate controls (temperature, fan speed, AC-on).

There is nothing more that VCDS can show (at the moment) other than allowing the LED fan speed lights illuminate on the dial/knob when in AUTO mode..........

Correct.
