Cannot get station logos

Featured Replies

I have a 14 reg vrs and have been trying to get the station logos on the bolero the only one that comes up is bbc world service . Auto save is on and I have been able to do it on a bolero in a new fabia . Have been trying for ages but still cannot do it can someone tell me how it is done.

Hi Matt,

There is a thread here (I'm unable to link as I'm on the phone) that will direct you to download the station logos from the VW site. I'm sure you will easily find the thread by searching DAB Logos or similar.

Once you download them it's a simple matter of copying them to an SD card and once inserted into the car go to the radio and hit Settings and then the option for Station Logos. It then let's you set the logo for your favourites.

Hope this helps.

Thanks iriches, you've saved me from having to wrestle the laptop from the clutches of the Mrs.

I am even more confused now why does the bolero have a auto store function for the station logos and why did the fabia just display the station logos automatically .

It will auto store them IF they are broadcast over DAB (which BBC WS does).

On the Columbus, there is a station logo database included, provided by phonostar.de, but guess what, it doesn't include any UK station logos #FACEPALM

VW have got it sorted on the Polo, Skoda just don't seem interested in providing eye candy station logos for the handful of buyers in the UK compared to the rest of Europe put together, so we go without :(

Which generation Fabia? If it is the new one, it is probably because it is the new MIB2 unit

In Ireland I downloaded station logos from the internet...put them on SD card.....then hooked them up to the preset station.

To andyvee all the dab stations I have stored do not transmit logos the only one I can get is BBC world service.  The Fabia I had was a brand new MK3 as a courtesy car. I wish I had known these have a different unit and not wasted hours earlier trying to get the logos on my Octavia vRS . When I saw them on the fabia I thought I could get them. Why does it not explain this in the instruction book so the only way to get them is to download onto sd card then.

As I said, BBC WS does, not sure why the other BBC Stations don't. I asked the Head of IT at BBC WS why, and he didn't know (I was doing some work for BBC WS Trust at the time).

Some of the commercial stations in London broadcast logos as well.

The Phonostar.de database will match the station tags that are broadcast and display a logo (for both FM and DAB) if one isn't broadcast. Doesn't seem to have UK logos though ...........

The Polo and the Mk3 Fabia do seem to have a UK logo database loaded though, it must be a MIB2 feature.
