WhereTF has the Elegance gone ?

Featured Replies

On the new Skoda price list there is no Elegance but, there is an SE L WTF

SE L is the new name for the Elegance spec, but SUK don't seem to know the final equipment level yet!

SE L is what my Passat was called, similar spec with alcantara seats etc, maybe the marques are getting closer and closer......

Does it matter what it's called?

Does it matter what it's called?

It does indeed.. wouldn't catch me driving anything called a bmw, Mercedes, vw, ford, Vauxhall.... :notme:

So you are driving a Skoda SE now?

On the continent Elegance is now Style. We don't have vRS either, we have just RS.

Wonder, if Skoda UK is improving their own name for the L&K too?

I think there is an issue with Ford about using RS in the UK that's why it became vRS

Ford is using the RS all over, it cannot be the issue. Our RS has the vRS emblems, but in the price list it is just called RS.

But I think Ford has copyrighted the name or something like that in the UK.

Im quite sure I read something about it in some review.

I'm a bit concerned driving around in a Vag.......

New May 2015 brochure available for download, though the configurator page is offline. Brochure shows SE L, and spec across the range. Most of the photos are from 2013 edition though.

I'd take that brochure with a pinch of salt, they've just changed the title elegance to SE L and put the new engine details in. All the infotainment details are wrong for start.

Maybe they've the name to reflect the rear suspension setup

SE L = Seriously Effluent Limousine

Stokey, it's a truth beyond challenge that all car brochures are works of fiction!

I've seen some where they reversed the photos of lefthand drive cars to show right hand drive...   I mean, why?

I can see why SUK didn't want to call it Style, as in the past that name has been used by other manufacturers for their base specification cars in the UK.

That explains the vRS, but the S, SE, SE L -specs make no sense.  (Calling the "Combi" the "Estate" at least is easily explained as a cultural thing.)

Car manufacturers PR departments use a number plate that can be used for both right hand and left hand photos

The number plates trick is an old one - but the interior shots show numbers on the dials you need a mirror to read...
