Autoglym Lifeshine

Featured Replies

This afternoon we signed up to buy a new Fabia III and part of the deal was the inclusion of Autoglym Lifeshine. On the face of it it seems like a good product but I have subsequently read a few reviews elsewhere suggesting to avoid at all costs, even if it's offered as a freebie!

What are your thoughts/experiences of this product and should we have it applied to our shiny new Fabia?

Just no.

Putting this particular product to one side (as I have no experience of it, but AG stuff is normally OK if not particularly high end).  If what you want is gleaming paintwork you'll be disappointed in the long life sealants.  If what you want is long term protection for no effort they can work but need to be well applied.  Often at dealers they aren't.  You may prefer to take the new car to a detailer for some sealant instead.  Also, delete dealers make a large profit on sealant sales, you'll get it cheaper elsewhere.... A lot.

Cost doesn't come into it .... what I want to know is whether or not to have it applied to a new vehicle or not  based on how good or bad it is!

The general consensus so far is to avoid and for the paintwork but what about the protection for interior fabric seats, is that worth it?

Love mine :D

Can't say I've used it on a new year, but my 2005 Fabia came up great with it.

Shampoo - worked great, washed the car well?

Fast glass - love it, again worked well

Tyre black - they went black and stayed black?

Alloy cleaner - was as expected.

Don't see what's so bad personally.

Edit: oh and the Aqua wax is great for my use so far, a good lazy way to apply the wax, smells nice as well :D

I wouldn't go for it. As the car is new find a professional detailer near you who can apply a ceramic coating will last a lot longer and cost roughly the same

It's ok if applied properly. Often it is not

If cost is not the question then leave it and get a Detailer to do a new car protection on your Fabia it will be worth it longer term

Be honest and let us know how you intend to care for the car, then you will get a helpful answer.

If you genuinely don't like regular maintenance of your car and want to put it through £5 hand car washes then there is no harm in taking a free lifeshine application.

Will it look like a new car after two years no?

Are there ways to get very close to maintaining the as new look then yes there is, but it isn't dealer applied Lifeshine

If you will be maintaining the car to show standards keeping it protected and running a scratch reducing wash regime, then Lifeshine will probably get in the way.

And neither is right or wrong, only today I spoke to a friend who just bought a lovely Clio Cup 182. His words to me were, I would rather drive the car to the limit until the engine pops than spend weekends washing it.

Fancy a trip to Exmouth with it? :D

If the dealer is going to throw this in as part of the deal then why not, the goodie bag has at least £50 worth of usable kit in it.

Will the protection mean that you'll never had to wash it again than no it will not, however its all down to preparation and how its applied as to how long it will last.
