Should i go manual or DSG Thoughts please

DSG... but I'm biased!

 

Honestly though it is a very objective thing. Test drive both then buy the one you prefer!

 

People will always recommend one or the other but only you can decide based on your preference and your journeys and how you like to drive etc.

As said need to drive bothe really just thinkig DSG would be better in town ( Getting lazy I feel)

I have a MkII FL CR vRs with DSG and after almost 2 years and 21K miles I won't go back to a manual.  However, the Sports mode is useless with the diesel engine as it takes the engine to revs above that at which the diesel is effective.  I find that I can overtake more quickly leaving the DSG in Drive and using the paddles to over-ride.  Apart from this, and the tendency (in my opinion) to be in too high a gear at 30-45mph, I think the DSG is an excellent system.  Although being keen on DSG does rather limit the choice for my next car!

DSG for me. I have clocked up almost 30k in 15 months and it has been brilliant. I won't go back to the manual out of choice. So easy to drive and super smooth.

I echo the thoughts above.

 

It seems most people who come from manual to DSG never want to go back. Me included!

 

We never really set out to get a DSG car but we went to the dealers to look at a few Fabias. Saw the Octavia and the price on the screen looked good.

 

Then looked through the window and realised it was DSG. We thought we'd give it a try and loved it!

 

Never want to go back to manual now.

No-one can tell you , you need to make up your own mind , you might get dozens of people telling you that autos are best suited for one legged old ladies and manuals are best but its irrelevant what others think    you need to drive them
