Hand rest plastic scrathes

Featured Replies

I have some relatively deep scratches on the plastic below the hand rest. Dont really remember when and how did it happen, if it happened at all, or the car was delivered this way (which I cant believe because I was checking the car for more than an hour during delivery)

Irrelevant now, I was wondering is there a way to fix this?

If now, maybe a replacement part?

arm rest

They look a bit deep to me buddy, if they are as deep as they look then a replacement part is the only solution.

Might want to look into what's causing it as well - looks like there's something potentially caught under the spongy part of the hand rest digging in as it draws back?

I actually havent though of that. If only there is some sort of imperfection from the bottom of the hand rest which caused that, it would mean the warranty would cover it. Will take a look!

Virtually impossible to remove scratches from satin finished plastics in my experience - however, if you can replace individual parts rather than whole sub assemblies then usually not too expensive.

Someone on here will usually have a copy of EKTA and will be able to get the part number for you.

If it was one of the glossy plastics such as the gloss black door pillars or carbon trim I have buffed out light scratches using a DA polisher.
