Looking to change my saw toothed conti"s for something quieter

Any thoughts on these or recommendations. They are going on a FL Okty Mk11 vrs estate. Cheers

i have them on my superb good tyres ive been very happy with them,  also consider uniroyal rainsport 3 they are good aswell

also consider uniroyal rainsport 3 they are good aswell

Very good for the price

Would I have another set?... No.

Why? The sidewalls are too soft, and make the tyres look flat.

I had to run them with really high Psi to compensate

Also, they have absolutely no shoulder protection, so if your alloys protrude, even a few mm, they are ripe for kerbing if you get too close.

Very grippy (obviously in the wet) and good in the dry, and like I said great for the price.

I would buy Eagle F1's next time

But asking about tyres, is like asking blonde or brunette... everyone has an opinion, and usually they recommend the ones they have bought

Best of luck

Damo

Got some on the front of mine.

Love em. Perform really well in all conditions.

Cannot wait for the national meet where I can see what they are like when really pushed.

But will defiantly buy again, given the price it's a no brainer.

I bought them for the tread pattern to be honest. Next was price, third was good reviews.

I had Conti CS 5's on before, think they may be quieter but not really paid attention to noise so other may have to answer that side.

Plenty will be about to recommend Goodyear Eagle F1's , never had em. Cost more too.

I got a set of Uniroyal Rainsport 3's for my wife's Porsche Boxster recently. The fronts are 225x40x18 (same as our VRS)and they seem to have good rim protection. The sidewalls are a wee bit softer than the Mitchelins that were on it so they give a very slightly more cushioned ride. They are really good and have transformed the ride in a good way. Will be changing the RS2's on the VRS to RS3's when it's time.

I have a set and two where out of shape from factory which gave me handling isues and when i realised it was tyres it was too late to do anythin about it. They have bigger gaps in the tread and the bigger the gap the noisier they are.

I wouldn't go for Sessantas if you want low noise, I don't remember them being particularly quiet when I had a set

I also noticed a drop in fuel economy, probably due to the extra grip, which isn't really necessary in normal road use, unless you regularly drive like a complete @r$e

How it works is larger spaces in tread traps more air which when realeased causes noise. Small tread pattern quieter tyre

MikeJay - That's complete bro science. At 67 dB they are some of the quietest tyres available. And they certainly made a noticeable difference on my Alfa against the old Falkens (which by mike's logic should have been like silent ninjas).

Good tyres, seen 4 friends use them without complaint.

if you have a costco local give them a ring bridgestone's are cheap only other make they do is conti's
