Vw t4 to Octavia estate

Featured Replies

Hello all completely new here so please bear with me if I waffle on...... We sold our t4 camper last year, our two younger daughters were more upset than us! But it simply wasn't being used enough to justify keeping it, but as we still camp 5 or 6 times a year we need a decent estate to fit our gear in, I've had a fair amount of golfs in the past so I've been looking at golf mk 4 1.9tdi estates but their few and far between and still going for stupid prices, anyway out of the blue I started noticing octavia estates, and there a step up from a mk 4 golf in my opinion......so that's what we've decided on, I'll have up to 4 grand to spend, so I should find somthing with under 100k miles on it, we have a small honda we use more often than not, so the skoda will only cover about 6k miles per year, I've decided on a diesel as most of the runs will be motorway camping trips and the fortnightly car share drive to work and back which is a 20 mile A road run. Anyway I know nothing about these cars but all the sites I've looked at give it a cracking review, my main concern is do the 1.9's have a dpf filter? I'd be looking at a 55- 06 plate with the funds I have.

Which spec is the better? and is a 90- 100 mileage one of these ok, I've never purchased a car with that sort of miles on, but I see some with double this for sale.

Any advice welcomed before I part with my hard earned cash, many thanks in advance. Gaz
