Which dealership should I use? Or should I say all of us who live in this area

Featured Replies

Hi everyone I was wondering if anybody had any previous experience with the following dealerships to be specific the service and warranty side.

Ive got a couple of things to have sorted out and I would just like to stick to one particular dealership going forward.

Hayselden Skoda Doncaster

Bickerton Skoda Sheffield

D M Keith Skoda Wakefield

Gordon Lamb Skoda Chesterfield

Also just to mention I purchased my Octavia from Gordon Lamb chesterfield which shouldn't really matter in theory but it probably does.

Any response about these dealerships negative or positive would be much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Check the Skoda website "service booking" page for nearby Service Centres too, I used one and found them really good well, they've gotta be, its all they do so, if they ain't any good, their outta business.

I have bought from Bickerton once and Lamb, i think, 5 times. This time it was a totally different story, I wanted a test drive in a 1.4 DSG and tried every dealer within a 35 mile radius and got zero response from any of them. Finally I went out of area, phoned Horton in Lincoln, took a test drive and placed the order. Lambs called to say that the old car required its first MOT 2 weeks after it was due, I am still waiting to hear from any of the Keith's branches. I called in in at Bickerton about October last year and even after repeated emails to the salesman I am still waiting for a drive but when pressed we were offered a drive in a Mk 2 1.4 DSG. I even resorted in phoning Skoda for help and never had a call back.

The nice new 1.4 DSG Elegance is very good and I am pleased that we bought it but I must confess we nearly gave up on Skoda.

It's pretty sad the lengths that dealers will go to so they don't have to take your money isn't it.

I had a Mk1 from Hayselden in 2002 and SWMBOs Mk2 plus my previous Superb 2 from Bickerton in 2009, had good service from both dealers but when I went to buy the Mk3 Bickerton were not prepared to do a good deal so I phoned Hayselden and Rainworth first, both were busy and neither returned my calls so I tried Horton in Lincoln and did a deal over the phone worth double the discount Bickerton were offering, so Horton get my Mk3 business and I can't fault them.  SWMBOs car is still on a service contract with Bickerton and I can't fault their customer service either, just a shame their sales were not interested in a deal as the difference between a £1500 discount or a £3,000 discount is worth travelling an extra 20 miles!
