EA288 2.0TDI 150 vs 190

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

does anyone know physical/constructional differences between these two engines?

Can't find Power/Torque curves anywhere on the web :(

150PS/340Nm can be chipped to ~190PS/410NM

190PS/400Nm can be chipped to ~220PS/450Nm

Does the stronger engine get bigger/heavier turbo, which spools up slower due to greater inertia? I'm interested in everyday city driving where pulling up from traffic lights is often, so as changing from 1st to 2nd, and from 2nd to 3rd. Is smaller turbo more nible and responsive in these conditions?

Thanx

Here you go... 150 vs 190, stock and remapped.

150 version (especially chipped one) pulls much stronger from early on, but 190 one catches on from 2200rpm.

Looks to me like there's a bigger turbo on 190bhp.

So do we think a bigger turbo and inter cooler on the 190?

I've ordered the 190 with DSG. It will be faster than my oil burning vrs. I've read somewhere the dsg drive train is limited to 350nm. Has this been modified for the 190 engine?

As you asked about the physical aspects, 190 requires adblue, 150 does not.

The 150 4x4 however does require adblue
