  • Put the wet weather kit on and went and did my Advanced Test.... and passed

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

  • Finished! That's 2016 done.

Got kicked out of a pub LOL.

Not on the bike strictly, but i did ride 10 hours yesterday to get here. Then got told to leave (basically "**** off" as we arent local). Bit annoyed at that but fair play, its their community.

So off to Amsterdam tomorrow after the BSB. Sorta splits up the ride back n should be better from there on in.

I can taste the beer already...

Should have burnt it to the ground cheeky ****s !

Ever the moderate scouser I see! :D

Just did a few miles on the scooter yesterday as it was such a nice day and it was good to blow the cobwebs away :)

Cleaned mine and oh boy did it need it?  Part of the problem of it being under a cover outside I guess.  Does look better for it but it will get mucky again very quickly so I don't fuss over it.  I bought it to ride and as long as it is kept mechanically sound and given a quick lick and a promise that does me.  Not for everyone I know but hey it was my money!

Mine is overdue a de smeg again. Once I have the new garage built ill spend a good weekend getting it prepped for the winter riding ahead.

Bring it on.

Just got back

Bike is properly dirty..

And my bum aches abit, but the bikes handled it very well tbh.

Err I think that is too much info there mate!  Sleep with the light on next time maybe. :notme:

I spent ages watching the stop start second race on the telly this afternoon (recorded).  Raining, not raining and all the time you would be stood there freezing your bits off thinking when is this going to end so I can get back home.  Oh the joys of the sofa! :D

Hahaa.

I didnt see the second race.. Who won?

We had 150miles to cover over to Amsterdam and the second race would have meant it was too late to go out on the ****. So beer took priority and we missed the race.

I like beer. Plenty to look at in Amsterdam too ;):D

Josh brooks won the first race too dint he! By a country mile actually.

Did you see any of the Ducati Trioptions? 2 very entertaining races they were. That did get my attention

Nah don't watch any of the support races.  In fact I usually fall asleep watching the main thing.  Both that and WSB bore me nowadays probably because I don't have any interest in the riders or who wins.  I watch every bit of the Moto GP and find it far more entertaining.

I know what youre saying, as you know, i dont follow much lol. Watchin it just makes me want to ride my own bike.

Great battle for first place in both Ducati races. In the second one, one of em swiped one of the peopld st the back (lapping him) and snapped his handlebar clean off on i think the second to last lap. He wasnt best pleased. Had every chance of winning too, but bit tricky when you wipe the throttle side off haha

As there are no pictures I dont believe this trip actually happened.....dum de dum de dum....

Does sound like an epic lads trip - bikes, beer, Amsterdam - what could possibly go wrong ?!!!

Haa. Yeah i didnt take any pictures. Oh. Apart from one, a brand new BMW s1000XR with pipe insulation and foam taped around the footpegs and handle bar grips. Apparently theyre suffering really bad vibrations.

It was good yeah haha. Maybe like to spend abit more time at places next time, rather than rushing around n riding about so much

Good to hear it went well.

All the test reports comment on the vibrations, wont be good to longer rides.

Cheers!

Confused me a little though. Coming from the people who have been making long distance touring bikes for years. Would of thought theyd have something like that sorted well before it came out for production

Yeah I suspect they'll need to figure something out. Maybe some mass dampers. I wouldn't be happy but a test ride would highlight the problem.

The k13 is turbine smooth in comparison.

Meant to ask - how many miles to assen and back ?

How were the tyres ?

I did about 1400 miles altogether mate.

Abit less than expected on the way there (i think maps added the distance on the tunnel) so 593 from my house to the B&B just outside Assen i think my trip said.

The tyres were OK tah. Didnt want to ask much of them in the bouncing rain, and was keeping miles away from everything. I dont want to have to use the brakes hard in the wet, because the front will lock, and same with the throttle. Itll spin up no problem. So keeping it smooth n sensible and going slow because it was raining so hard, i couldnt really see anyway lol.

Good mileage that, proper riding too in the wet stuff. Great experience.
