What did you do to your bike today?

Featured Replies

It would have been cheaper to have knitted one!

Oh and just for the record you will NEVER call for a McDonalds while you are with me!

Chris,

You are my hero for the anti McDonalds rant.

  • You're right, I've just undone one and the lip on the pipe extrudes out of the block so it's pressing against that.

Oh come on

What's wrong with you all? :D :D.

I would rather lick up one of Charlie's 'accidents' in the kitchen.  Without fries!

WTF is the point of a warm soggy sesame seed bun?

Looks stunning mate.

How was the ride back?

Did you get wet? :D

No rain thankfully, so I was able to fully enjoy the ride.

Really pleased with my choice of machine and particularly the "comfort seat" option that I chose.

It's early days but my first thoughts are that its perfect for my needs and actually better than I recall from the test ride.

Pannier fitting is first class although I am going to hold back for a while on the extended BMW screen as the standard one appears, surprisingly, to give sufficient wind protection.

Chuffed to pieces.

Brilliant!

Looks the part anyway. Hope you enjoy it!

We just need some good weather now!

Wey hey new bike Friday. Looks stunning that kev ! Love the red frame !

Great that it stayed dry for the first ride getting to know it.

Bet you didn't sleep last night and we're like an annoying kid at Christmas this morning ?!!!!

Well mines gone in today for another electrical gremlin repeating itself and I've got a loaner gs1200 for a few days. What a laugh. The complete opposite of the xr. Much better on the motorway but feels somewhat pedestrian on the twisty stuff.

Totally get the appeal though.

What kind of deal with the devil did you make to get sunny weather when you picked up your new bike. Hopefully it will last all weekend so you can enjoy it.

Thanks. It was a nice experience picking it up too. Want some dry weather, if only to get the slippery stuff off the new tyres.

It's a nice light bike, easy to ride with good handling, but I don't think I will be challenging you on the xr!

Ride safe

The Devil looks after his own. Cheers.

Looking good Kev, you must be well pleased-even the chain looks clean...

Abit less bonkers than the XR eh! haa.

Yeah it gets bigger and heavier with the scaffolding and 33 litre fuel tank of the Adventure version too.

An animal on the motorway though.

You were soo lucky with that. I think you're the first person on here to pick a new bike up without testing its submarine capabilities on the way home :D

Have you decided on acf50 or fs365 yet? If not you're more than welcome to come over and you can put a bit of both on your bike to see which you prefer as I've got both in the garage.

Slightly off topic sorry...

But something popped up on MCN earlier. They're revising the R1200 engine for next year, things change in August i think.

I don't know if you've seen, but it might be of interest to you if you haven't. That's all :)

I've heard that rumour too Ollie. Apparently there's going to be more power egore..... Having shelled out for mine last December I don't think I'll be changing and no doubt the stealers would tell me it's worth some miniscule amount. Mind you it would be a change for MCN to be correct!

Maybe we could arrange for you to sit on Daves XR and see if you find that boring? :D

I bet its bloody nuts! :D

Thats the thing that popped up for me, don't know if what you've seen is any different. Seems to be alot of gearbox changes in there.

Nah i don't blame you for not changing mate! My dads not interested either but maybe when his is in for a service next and they get him to test ride one.. who knows. I think he'd go for something a little lower next time tbh anyway. He's a big bloke, but got bad knee's now and the GSA loaded up with gear and fuel isnt easy work even for him. He's about 6 foot, 6 foot 1, so relatively short compared to the Germans i guess haha.

Says the man who's one cylinder short of a full set !!!
