Breakdown kit

Featured Replies

Like many other drivers I have a breakdown kit comprising of towing eye, wheel nut remover and squirty bottle of tyreweld but there are other items. They are a plastic pair of pinchers, a metal 'L' shaped type allen key and a wire shaped circular hook. These are not shown or mentioned in the owner's handbook so I am at a loss to know what they do. Has anyone have any idea?

The plastic pinchers are to remove the wheel bolt cover caps when alloy wheels are fitted, the L shaped key may be for removing the rear light clusters so that the bulbs can be replaced.

The wire shaped thing is possibly for removing wheel trims if fitted

....the L shaped key may be for removing the rear light clusters so that the bulbs can be replaced.

 not on the Roomster, although good shout as there is one of these for the 1T Touran rear clusters

Hello Ed, my '57 plate has full-size spare, assorted bits-n-bobs, AND that l-shaped TORX double-ended key, AND it fits the internal fixing screws for the rear light clusters. So I now keep it in the manuals wallet in the glovebox.

Were you at Rockingham today? A better turn-out than last year; Two Ocean Blues, one dark grey (Clive from Coventry), and the camo'd air-ride special.....Sadly the ^ ^ ^ ^ VRoomster was unable to make it this year, pity! But Barrie got a lift.......which enabled this to happen....

A huge thank-you to Barrie for using his VCDS/laptop to make my keys do all the doors with one press, woo-hoo!

And I bought a set of interior LED bulbs and rear number-plate LED's, the guy from Brum very kindly fitted all the internal ones, so I've just the n/p bulbs to do tomorrow when I find the right torx screwdriver. £15 the lot!

Home now, great day, big thanks to Colin and Clare!!

Richard
