Amundsen Sat Nav how to input destination by post code?

Featured Replies

Not sure exactly when it became law but, I can only presume it was aftter 2009 that car manufacturers were not allowed to have speed camera locations.

Not entirely sure where you've got your sources from, but my fathers 2016 Volvo V60 has built in speed camera locations and warning features.

Thanks chaps. I'm just finding my way around the Amundsen system on our recently purchased Octavia Scout (in Race Blue - excellent colour on a brilliant car) and this really helped as it's not the most intuitive system.

Previous cars - Octavia Estate 1.9 Mk 1, Octavia Estate 1.9 Mk 2 both diesel as is the current Octy. Also Favorit, Fabia Mk 1 and Fabia Mk 2. Now my wife owns Fabia Mk 3 in Corrida Red. Could say we're Skoda fans!

You could  pull  it out and fit a columbus

Post Code Navigation on Amundsen 2

1: Start New destination

2: tap Town/City

3: then tap "ptcd " tucked away in the bottom left corner - you're getting there!.

4: Wait for it - you can't just tap in the post code,

5: Change the keypad from numbers to letters (bit stupid as all UK PC start with letters)

5: Enter the initial letter(s)

6: Change the keypad to numbers

7: Enter the initial number(s)

8: Change Keypad to letters

9: enter a space

10: Change Keypad back to numbers

11: Enter second number

12: Change keypad back to letters

13: Enter final letters

14: Tap the destination offered (if you managed to get that far before putting your fist through the screen!!!

******. The above will not allow you to enter a house number, so.......

When entering the postcode only enter 5 or 6 letters / numbers.

Leave the last 1 or 2 then press "Next" or "OK". You can then enter the street and number.

no need for steps 8,9 and 10

just bash the postcode in without the space

with practice you can use the voice recognition , lots of practice though - will while away the hours on a long journey  ....

If you have a spare thousand quid or so, then yes you could.

Would  the  510 from  the Oct 2 fit  4 to 600 of ebay

No.There's no hole suitable in the dashboard to fit it. Completely different units as the  Mk3 Octavia has a two piece unit (a screen in the dash and the brain in the glovebox)

On my Octy - new May 2016 - 9 is not an option space key - is greyed out.

2017 Nissan Leaf has audible camera reporting whether nav is in use or not.

In the UK (but not in France) it is legal to report speed camera locations based on GPS data of probable location, what was made illegal is to report the actual presence of a camera by detection using either radar or laser detectors (and use of a laser jammer - sometimes misdescribed as a "garage door opener" - can end in prosecution and possible confiscation of the vehicle - rare but it has happened).
