Top Mounts

:D

Let the garage do it :)

Lol, paying a mate (who works at a garage) to do it. Unfortunately that means there are only limited places I can swipe my credit card on him...and even less that would pay for the parts.

Right.

Info for anyone, if you buy this http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Skoda_Fabia_1.9_2004/p/car-parts/suspension-and-steering/suspension/suspension-mounting/?609440760&1&f55cda95f0a317948d03fd48111048cb5e1bddd4&000872

It contains the top mount and bearing, same part no. to buy from ECP too.

I was told to buy a 'bearing kit', this however just contained 2 bearings.

Seemingly the way to order from ECP and CP4L is to look at the pics, the descriptions and the staff cannot guide you.

I'd expect so, the picture is of a strut top bearing and a strut top bush making a conpelte mount.

I'd be upset if one of them was missing :D

Yep that is what I said to the woman on the phone earlier in the week and was told nope, you just get the top mount and I needed to buy the 'kit'

As otherwise I would have bought that one then and there, instead I bought the kit as instructed thus upping my total collection of bearings to 6.

I managed to get mk4 top mount kits for my mk3 ibiza, the mount wouldn't fit ever so slightly but the bearing fit in my old top mount lol. This was from ecp. Theyre useless lol, everything I have ever ordered has been wrong and needed ordering again

If and when I am up for the challenge of getting the correct parts from ECP, I do hours and hours of research so that I know when I go to collect brake discs or pads or suspension parts, I know exactly the manufacturer's part numbers that must be on the boxes (buggar the ECP warehouse numbers) - wrong numbers mean wrong parts and no end of "they are the same" works for me!  This approach was prompted by me requesting they ordered in a set of (Power Discs) discs for a Passat V6, (Polish) guy that did the ordering seemed to know what he was doing, when they arrived the (English) know it all guy said he was a fool and had ordered the wrong parts - a wasted trip for me, next trip had me picking up the wrong parts and going home to do what I should have done in the first  place, ie looking up the manufacturer's website - and it turned out the first (Polish) guy got me the correct parts and the know it all (English) guy was talking **** and wasting my time!

ECP could be a very good place to shop, they are not because in my experience, they just do not bother to make sure their listings are correct, small errors might be okay, but really there arte just too many sloppy mistakes in their listings.

I've just done dad's Mk1 furby. I used the corteco kits, compress the spring, undo the top nut, old mount comes straight off whole and new one goes straight on whole. Fit was fine, quality ok, metal on the spring cup seemed a bit lighter than the oem mounts. Ok for the old man's 3k miles a year, probably not the best choice if you're on aftermarket suspension.
