enabling passenger mirror dip on selecting reverse octavia 5e

Featured Replies

...does not work on my 2015! What did I do wrong?

Maybe the coding no longer works with the hardwarw installed if its been changed?

Its worth noting that the Octavia does not have the memory mirror motor (unless your car has electric memory seats) so the functionality will be limited as it cannot store the X/Y co-ords like the memory mirror can.

Oddly, Mk7 Golfs with folding mirrors have the memory mirror and do mirror dip out of the factory. I also believe its possible to retrofit the memory mirror motor if you can find one on-line.

As above, useless function unless you have proper "hardware".

I activated it on mine (no memory seats) and disabled one week later.

The mirror never returned to it's original position, I had to re-adjust it every day...

My 63 plate has a dipping near side mirror, no memory seats. The mirror switch has to be in the " L " position for it to work.

Select reverse, put switch to " L " it dips, put switch back to " O " in goes up again

I mean "the Continent" sorry ;)

Gioppinos,

You can try resetting to factory settings in the menu or restarting the head unit (press and hold power button ~20-30 secs).

Do you have the tickbox in the menu after coding?

My 63 plate Elegance doesn't do this. Do you have to set something up or is it a VCDS thing?

Needs setting via VCDS then you get a tick box in the mirror settings  ( mirror dip I think ) on the Radio. Works on a Vrs so it should work on an Elegance

It does ....

I asked the dealer in Glasgow where I bought my Vrs from to do this at the weekend when they were resetting the oil change warning. Over an hour later they came back saying that the couldn't do it as they used different software! Is this not standard VagCom software? I even took in a printout of what the required code setting is.

They said they would have to charge me for it as they had never done it before. I said, don't bother. I'm not paying for incompetance and I'll go elsewhere. Surely this is an easy software change?

Activated it yesterday on my MY2015 vRS. DSG, without memory seats.

Worked by changing these

...BgThree, which version of VCDS?

As per my sticky, on MQB cars always use the latest beta of VCDS so you have the latest label files for the controllers, plus there is an option do a soft reset of a controller after changing an adaptation, and some of the timings needed for newer modules are in the latest betas, but not the earlier releases.

i used the latest  version 14.10 but does not work on my octy 2015..it Always the question HW?

Read my post again. You are not using the latest beta. I have enabled this on every O3 I have come across successfully from MY13 to MY15.5 and SE, vRS, Elegance spec.

Dealers dont use Vagcom/VCDS, they have the VW system which is more restrictive and does not allow them to do some things. Obviously they would want to charge as the guys dont work for free
