Another clutch / DMF question

Featured Replies

Since buying my VRS it has always had what I would describe as a noisy thrust bearing - a consistent rattle at idle and if you dip the clutch the noise went away.

Since having my turbo replaced last week (which I know is not connected in anyway shape or form to the clutch  :p  ) the rattle seems to be much more noticeable and if I now dip the clutch at idle if makes no difference to the rattle.

This could be purely coincidence but I just wanted to mention it.

I am have having no issues with getting the car in to any gear, no crunching and no slipping of the clutch.

The car has done 118,000 and from what I can see from all the receipts & paperwork that I have with the car, it is still on it's original clutch.

Do I just carry on, put up with the rattle & wait for it to start to slip / crunch / etc as I don't want to spend money if I don't have to, or shoud I replace it with something like this:

I take it this question has been asked many times before?   :D
