Stream Display Faulty

Featured Replies

Have any of you experienced any dead "lines" on the display of your Stream?

I'm hoping it's a bad connection and not a duff LCD screen.

You can see towards the bottom of the screen, a row a few pixels high is always off, all the way across the screen.

Given that those units sell for about £25, I wouldn't see much point in taking it apart to try and fix the screen!

A Bolero replacement is what you need...keep an eye out for an ad as soon as I get chance to swap it for my newly-acquired Columbus.

snap, I'll soon have a Bolero to part with when my Columbus turns up too.  Must be time to join Freedom and try and flog off some of my Octy 1 parts too.

Also beware of Boleros: there can be an issue where the screen is always dark and difficult to see. I only had mine a month or so before ditching it for an RNS315 :)

As nice as a Bolero would be, I can't justify spending that much for a nicer screen.

You'd lose PDC too, as well as climate echo. However, it does have in-dash 6 disc changer

I have a mfsw too and I bet that won't work with the Bolero either

Mine does.

Replacement Stream would be the best bet. About £25-35 with code.

Although yours is a Stream MP3, so possibly a bit more. If you don't have/use the Aux port then a basic Stream will suffice.

Mine does.

Is that a pre-fl mfsw?

Yes. 07/57 pre-FL Scout. Not trying to flog you my Bolero but I much prefer it to the Stream - just looks better. I can live without the climate repeaters and use the mirrors that Skoda so helpfully fitted when reversing. ;-)

MFSW buttons will work with any head unit .

Depends. The ones in the Scout ('07) didn't work with the RNS315, as one was DDP and the other BAP, so I'm told. Another reason to have gone RNS510 ;) ;)

Well it's nice to know that I can upgrade to a Bolero without too much hassle in the future then :)

I assumed since the Bolero only came on the FL cars, it wouldn't work with a pre-fl MFSW.

Still, the cost of a Bolero and a new gateway to prevent battery drain is far too much to justify at the minute.

I will take the unit apart at some point soon to properly investigate.

If you do, Try re-seating the connector(s) to the screen as it could be just a dry joint.
