The speed the cars were travelling on the on-board was stunning though.

Well done to Andrea M in the Skoda in Class 2.

 

 

In the prem class, normal service resumed by the man. 

Oh yes.

The last (and only) privateer World Champ also drove a blue/red/yellow Ford...In 1981!.

One of last Fords I owned.....

When  did you own MLD999P ?

must be worth a bit now.

I see that over 5 years the MOT shows under 9,000 miles.

DVLA have a RS1800 & first registered 1975 & 1,993 cc

Nah, I only had a boggo Mk2 but then bought a RS2000 that had been rolled and intended to set about doing the transplant but got too busy with bikes, a new Opel Manta and work.  Spent a lot if time travelling in a tricked up Mexico that my dear friend rallied, recall it was stage 3 or 4 and he had spent more on it than the car was originally.

 

Loved the light rear end in the mark two and it was a joy in ice and snow.  When I say the Mk3 etc Escort launched I thought Ford, you have lost it.  I think that was when Ford became a pariah brand and yuppies looked down on nearly all Fords with the exception of the Cossies.  

 

Perhaps Seb Ogiers win can bring Ford back to being cool again.  Tanak looks really good too.
