Tyre pressure sensor

Featured Replies

2 weeks ago on the way up the M3  computer flashed on says losing air in front right tyre

I couldn't stop straight away due to road works... Manage to exit off the motorway within few miles.

In to a lay-by thinking this is the last thing i needed at 6am morning with a boot full of stuff, Checked tyre it was fine..

had no problem since..

Any one else had this....??

Had this a coupla times both cases the said tyre was a little lower than the rest, check them all and reset the TPMS

I had it the other day. Turned out to be a small nail. The tyre was easily fixed as TPMS detected it before it ran flat.

Yes, as per the other threads tps is sensitive to temp and load and anything else but is good at spotting screws etc.

Not sure what the hatch pressures are but unloaded in the estate tyres should be 2.4 bar and loaded 3.3 bar so a reasonable difference and you'd expect the tps to pick this up if it was an actual loss.

Yes, only last Friday driving home in the pouring rain had low pressure alert in the TPMS, pulled over, fortunately I carry a pressure gauge in the car and the they were all spot on. As has been talked about on Briskoda many times before the Skoda TPMS is a cheap system that works on wheel rotation not on actual tyre pressures, a bit of aqua planing or wheel spinning can set it off. In fairness any TPMS is better than none and it's the first time in 42,000 miles that I've had a false alert.
