vRS Estate TDI or Passat Estate

Featured Replies

That was my point.... instead of comparing the Passat with the Octavia, the OP should be comparing it with the Superb?

Are you sure? There is a difference between a floor pan and a platform. A platform can have different sizes of floor pans on it

Go for a Merc E300 Hybrid.... Just over £200/mth on a business lease ;)

Had the sri trim level with many extras...

The car was just problematic from new, new disc all round within 5000 miles, engine mountings loose, garage said nothing wrong with car, poor paint, alarm going off in winter for no reason, then unable to open car, key fobs would not work, ,lights coming on when parked up and locked draining battery, several power steering pipes ruptured to name a few....  The trim level had nothing to do with it...

We are talking about build quality, sound insulation, cabin materials used etc... so it has all got to do with it.

You had a 'broken' car, so it was bad luck and it happens.. there are broken Octavia's out there as well, although most of them run fine.

Octavia has build quality like cars as Focus, Golf etc... in fact even less than the Golf, but it doesnt matter..   Insignia is a higher class car. Its enough if you sit in it, touch some of the material around you and take a drive over rough surfaces to see the difference.

We will have to agree to disagree on this subject then. The Insignia a higher class car-  :D

After owning both cars, I personally think the Octavia is the better car - its my opinion only, i think its more comfortable, less cluttered on the dash, quieter, better ride and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

I will never buy a Vauxhall again, had 2 and both were problematic.  Have 4 skodas in close family,  with no major issue apart from ware and tare. .Of course all manufactures have issues, but my  2 out of 2 bad luck vauxhall cars = 100% track record of bad Vauxhalls
