Skoda Vrs Auto

Does anyone know how to turn off the auto stop start function permanently. Any advice would be great thanks. Glyn

Glyn I think the short answer is no !

However, if you installed something directy off the battery, the car will always see that power drain & rarely enable the stop/start alternatively, some have raised the voltage setting within the car's settings to its user definable maximum (via VCDS) and this kinda fools the system too.

Use the search function and you should find the relevant thread.

Just use the button. Takes less than 2 seconds each time you start the car.

Thanks all, i keep forgetting to press the button on a new journey. So annoying when the engine stops..

Just perceiver with it. I like it. Don't press hard on the brake, or release the foot pressure slightly when you have stopped and it restarts ready for the off.

Incorrect, it is possible to permanently disable the start stop function using VCDS, see here........ I was kept busy at the recent National Briskoda Meet at Rockingham doing this for other owners.

You are too far away for me to do it for you, but try the VCDS map and locate a willing member to help you.

Sorry to rain on your parade Steve, but mine had somehow re-enabled itself by the time I got home.

But thanks for giving it a go!

Ohhh bugger! [emoji20]

To drive your car, you need to unlock it, open the door, get in, sit down, put foot on the brake, start the engine, put it in drive or reverse, put on your seat belt, select your radio station or music and then put your foot on the accelerartor and indicate when turning.  You might even press the buttons for the heater or aircon.  After doing all this, I don't think its a real burden to just push a button to turn off start/Stop.

Being a total newbie to the Mk3 VRS spec...... what is all this ? Are we talking the petrol or diesel dsg or both, and is this the normal stop/start eco thing that a lot of the blue motion etc cars have ?
