I am looking at the SE-L and this comes with the Variable Floor in the boot as it will be an estate.  Does anyone know how this works with a full size spare, can it be used?

The spare goes underneath the lower floor.

I think you can only have full size spare with 16" wheels (S & SE specs). All others have to have space saver!

My Vrs has the space saver with the floor.

Actually not sure its a proper space saver, just a smaller size.Can't remember, its a while since I last saw it.

Since the latest brochure was released, the SE L now has 16's as an option. As you say these come with a full size spare (if you order one)

i have a full size spare in my vrs,it would work with vbf, when in it is proud of the boot floor by only about 15mm, I just had to cut the wings and feet off the jack holder and it fits as normal inside the wheel, id rather this than having to drive with a bicycle wheel on the car

Pre-SEL, Elegance comes with spare wheel, if ordered, which is full size but on a 16 inch rim.

Officially it's subject to speed restriction as it doesn't match the 17 inch standard wheels.

+1. My Elegance (with VBF) on 17" has a spare steel wheel of 16" the dealer says it is subject to the same speed limitations as a space saver, i.e 50mph.

 

There is still some room around/in the wheel for storing your bits and bobs and still use the VBF as intended.

The advantage of having 16's as your standard wheels means that there are no speed / loading restrictions if you have to fit the spare - as its a proper full sized tyre on a proper 16" steel wheel.
