Disable ESP on 2014 Superb 4x4

Featured Replies

Hi..

Can someone help me with this problem? I really want to disable my ESP. I have tried different tips about VCDS programming, but it seems like my abs module BM wont support the codes. :(

This is my ABS module from autoscan:

Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104) Labels: 1K0-907-379-60EC1F.clb
Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 BM HW: 1K0 907 379 BM
Component: ESP MK60EC1 H46 0164
Revision: 00H46001
Coding: 843D6016192700FC211306EA98200052A1095023
Shop #: WSC 33361 790 00076
VCID: 7EF3B4EFE99148D11C3-802B

No fault code found.

The only thing I can do is to disable ASR with my button :(

I have a never abs module.. Already tried that.. But the script wont accept my long coding. It has an extra byte. :) And I have tried to change allot of variables of my long coding, but no luck yet :(

If you don't mind me asking, why would you want to?

Turning ESP off has its advantages in certain situations.

We have a white stuff called snow here ;)

Anyone? :)

It is difficult. This is quite a basic abs MK60, and if i am right esp is working together, therefor you can not switchoff completely the ABS.

But why Asr off is not enough? Are you going to drift in the snow?

For starting, or in a hill -> asr off should be enough.

Have you tried: 843D6016192780FC211306EA98200152A1095023

Looks like your module has an extra byte, so I removed it, ran the script, added it back on.

I tried now....

Code out of request :( :( :(

Yes. I want to drift alittle :D

Just had a look at various codes for the BM rev and I've only found one that has anything none zero in the two bytes that previously gave you ESP defeat:

333B601609270600CC0D06EA90216092A1015023

So maybe try:

843D6016192706FC211306EA98206052A1095023

I have no idea what it'll change but it's certainly same bytes as the previous versions so my current best guess.

edit:

found another version

edit2:

got a longer list of 'valid' codes from various vehicles, as before byte 14 is a reversal of byte 6 but there quite a few options here, again not sure exactly what each one will do

Thanks man... Every code accepted. But I can only turn off ASR :( :(

That sucks, guess the next challenge is to find a golf R with a BM rev abs module? Pretty sure this tweak originated from the golf as that allowed ESP defeat as standard.

Strange, I can only guess that some other ASR/ESP switches have some extra connections or different behaviour.

I assume all is normal when you restore the original coding. They might have removed this ability in the BM module, if I come across any other coding I'll let you know.

Hehe..yep. happens with both oem and all other coding i try. I really hope they not disable it in bm. Again thank u! :)

  • 5 months later...

Lasse did you manage do disable ESP finally?

Strange, I have the same component with the same HW and SW revisions, but my coding is totally different:

Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 BM    HW: 1K0 907 379 BM
   Component: ESP MK60EC1   H46 0164
   Revision: 00H46001

   Shop #: WSC 33361 790 00056
   VCID: 7EF58EBAE9801FEEE91-802B

Would like to have option to turn it off when needed. ESP causing sometimes risky situations.
  • 1 year later...

I'm still very interested into this thread

Here's is my coding:

Address 03: ABS Brakes (J104)       Labels: None
   Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 BM    HW: 1K0 907 379 BM
   Component: ESP MK60EC1   H46 0164

   Coding: 114B600C492400FA881406E5921C0042A1000020

Would like to be able to do it also on my side :(

Ha! Managed to disable finally.

Didn`t fiddle with bits and bytes.

Just inserted new long coding and voila! it works!

Old coding:

843D601619270002211206E4981F0052A1000023

new coding:

843D601619270002211206E4981F0052A1000073

RockTheMike, try to change last digits 20 into 70, might work.

Wow  completely different coding.

Thanks for your input !

Based on reply from here: http://forums.mwerks.com/showthread.php?6869432-Traction-Control-Button-Retrofit-Kit-on-a-2014-SE-1-8TSI&p=103166705&viewfull=1#post103166705

The suggestion is to change my 20 into a 22

So much different possibilities, but the suggestion from VW Vortex comes from a car that is closer to mine.

I will try I keep you posted.

Persons who have been able to do this with a 379BM is hard to find :)
