Can't get comfortable driving position in Rapid sport

Featured Replies

I am 5' 10" (which was pretty standard for a man back in the 1950's/60's) and have absolutely no problem with the seating in my Rapid 1.2 Sport - in fact, we took it all tghe way to St Tropez, Nice, Cannes and Monte Carlo last September with no complaints from wife, myself or our little canine friend in the back!   We even detoured to visit the First World War "Ulster Tower" Memorial and the Cemetery at Thiepval and pay tribute to the men from my grandfather's farm who fell with the 36th Ulster in 1916.

I would suggest a good test drive, if you're in any doubt, or perhaps rent one for a weekend from Budget (or one of the spot hire companies who have them) and take it out for a jaunt somewhere far away - live with it!

As for the controls being "off-centre" - that's not the case with my car!

Agree on the steering wheels and pedals, no noticeable offset on mine.

And I really dislike cars where I don't feel comfortable at the wheel - old MInis, SWMBO's Astra G, SWMBO's Multipla, the Ford Fusion I had in the US, to name a few.

Well my seats out of our 1.2 Elegance will be going to a scrap yard pretty soon! Don't know if they'll help?

The pedals aren't offset in a Rapid but they are in an 03 Octavia. I've moved to the backseat on mine for driving now. It's more comfortable haha.
