You should be careful sharing stories like this - Mr and Mrs. Octygone wont let you drive Lorna anywhere if they think you're gonna kill her.

I don't always drive like a hooligan! :finger:

Bad luck could have been a lot worse. You might want to tell the council about their missing reflector post though before someone else goes off there, unless you've already done so! :D

technically he should pay for the damage.

I know, I guess it's up to your concience whether you report it and say it was you or just say you noticed it missing. Either way it could be your good deed for the day :D

Bad luck m8, glad no one was hurt.

People saying ABS is undersensitive??? must be perhaps down to ur ASR   cause in my furby with ***t brakes its always kicking in... tbh to much really... h8 it when it does keep thinking tyres are being shredded off when actually the opposite is happening.

Well, heres the damage folks.

Think I need to save some serious cash, this, along with the back bumper scuff I have as well as the numerous stone chips on the front end justifies a trip to the body shop methinks.

So replacement front and rear bumpers, replacement bonnet and all resprayed... Think I'll get my new rubbing strips, grille surround and a couple of extra bits sprayed at the same time, and a good polish all over (to remove the minor swirl marks) would be ace. Oh, and fill in the odd stone chip on the bodywork too.

Looks nasty enough I hope you can get it sorted ok without it costing you too much!

Going to sort it in the new year after the gritting has finished. Then I will have a car that looks like new.

Hope to get change from a grand. The thing is I want to find someone who I can trust.

Bang goes your leather

I've never understood why they have to do that

Maybe because he was driving a Skoda!

Years ago my wife (then GF) had a FIAT Panda. It was actually quite nippy but if I ever overtook anyone, they would inevitably re-overtake immediately. I have never had a car since that inspired such reactions in other road users.

I think you need to change the car for something which is a little less nose happy, Tom.

Ever considered rear-wheel-drive ?

Maybe something like a BMW 328i perhaps?? :P

Nah, they're not very reliable and the handling isnt' a patch on an M3.

  • Author
 Not reliable?? I reckon its 90% of an M3 with 50% of the costs. :)

Phil - leave Tom alone!!

its more like 70% of the car and 65% of the costs....

  • Author

Well, maybe, but its the difference between affordable and not, so I'm happy.

Tom, ever considered a smart roadster? Very cheap to run and insure. Rear wheel drive and reliable too. Do a search on here, awesome motors

Equally, you could pick up a decent MK1 MX-5 for 328 money. The running costs would be significantly less, I think.
