Does this screen grab mean windows 10 is on my PC?

Featured Replies

If I try and use, say, Google under Win10 and Windoze pretends to use Google but actually runs the search through Bing, then that's not only forcing me to use different software to I selected, but also deception. If you can't see that, then are you actually qualified to take part in this discussion?

This is not the case mine is using google and not bing. There is no deception

  • Can anyone on 10 confirm chrome working? So long as that works, she won't be upset at any other niggles.

  • Yup. Chrome installed and working fine for me.   Phil

If you use Cortana, then you are choosing to use Bing/Cortana to search. It's not the only way to search the web. Cortana is a Windows 10 feature that uses Microsoft's own search engine. That's not deceptive, nowhere did you ask Cortana to use Google search, and nowhere did Microsoft say Cortana will use Google to search. Sure, it'd be nice to have the choice, but it's not deceptive, it's just missing the feature to change the search engine. You can search using any engine you wish by using IE/Edge/Firefox/Chrome/Opera etc. directly. No one's forcing you to use Cortana.

Firefox 40 will include guidance on how to change defaults.

Cortana relies on Bing, if you want to use Cortana you'll have to stick with it.

I've got Cortana on my phone. Don't use it at all. I don't get these PA apps tbh they don't work that well or do that much really.

MS despite reputation is probably more responsible with your data than the other companies.

UK.Gov has shifted a lot of it's communication to the Google platform however it's not truly the Google cloud since they have negotiated a private silo in N America.

But any time you email anything to central Gov now, it's going to Google.

I quite like Cortana now she's been highly accurate for me. Although I must admit I do occasionally resort to childlike questions such as "How big are your tits" etc. she has quite a large library of humorous responses.

Well I have just downloaded Firefox 40 and it works.

Yeah I've played with the easter eggs too.

It's pretty tame thought. I use the "Sing me a song" and "tell me a joke" ones to amuse my folks.

I have no idea where this information is coming from? Are you just ****ting on MS for the sake of it now?

I've used FF for years and I have never used BING. I've always changed the default to Google and even the home start page is google! You've never needed to use the search bar because the address bar did the same thing.

Honestly, I swear you are just reading thing's of the internet or being extremely narrow minded not to find alternatives or even use some sort of knowledge to find a different outcome.

I'm sorry if this comes across rude GentleGiant but everything you've said so far has been in some respects wrong.
