My new Superb is now about 4 months old.

 

When car was new I noticed a sort of streaky sticky wax on sill below doors. Was quite difficult to clean off with hot water and all purpose cleaner.

Then waxed the car with two coats of Collinite 845, including this area.

 

After washing the car today noticed this oily wax has returned, quite evident with vertical run lines.

 

I presume its just some run off with what ever is used in the door box sections but looks a bit unsightly.

 

Wondering if anyone else has noticed this and when will it stop?

 

 

I've had a bit of this on mine, quite noticeable as mine is metallic silver. It had a couple of streaks from new which weren't cleaned off fully when I picked it up. As you say its quite difficult to get it off. It only happened during the initial first few weeks and hasn't happened since.

It's delivery wax that hasn't been fully removed. You sometimes get bits in the drainage channels that seeps out over time. It's nothing to be worried about just remove it as and when you find it or when washing the car. Panel wipe and similar are best but a little bit of polish on a cloth will do just as well. It'll die down after a while.

Better wax than rust I suppose
