  • Those ebay immo defeat boxes should be made illegal, one reason why you should seriously consider altering the OBD port on your car to a non standard configuration so these boxes do not work and savin

What was it?

No idea, i checked the pedal sensor, used contact spray on all connections under the dash, removed battery and ECU, and refitted ....

So one of them sorted it :p

I must say the seller of the ECU, as been extremely helpful, replying to all my "help" questions :p

This is the ECU i bought: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271957523461?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

the above is set to 00014, so is correct. instruments (17) is set on 28401.. is this right im confused on the last/ bottom option that equates to the 1 in 2840(1) also ABS is 00188 which there isnt a option for..either 00044(manual) or 00045 (auto)

Both codings look ok to me.

Where did you get the values to calculate that coding?

found it :

Software Part Number 6Q?-937-049-B and before:

  • +00001 = Trailer Hitch installed
  • +00002 = Trunk Lid Remote Unlocking installed
  • +00004 = Electric Load Management active
  • +00008 = Interior Light Control
  • +00016 = 4-door Chassis
  • +00032 = Heated Front Seats installed
  • +00064 = Heated Front Windshield installed
  • +00128 = Heated Mirrors installed
  • +00256 = Headlight Washers installed
  • +00512 = Rain Sensor installed
  • +01024 = Trunk Lid Remote Unlocking impulse driven
  • +08192 = Rear Windshield Wiper with Comfort Function installed
  • +16384 = Electric Fuel Pump Releay installed

2+8+128+16384 = 17544

Mine is:

8192+1024+128+16+2=9362 checked with VCDS module 09.

I suspect yours is the same plus the fuel pump relay which is 25746, unless your interior lights don't dim in which case it's 25738  :D

I think that's only the elegance, mine is the comfort spec, I think the VRS is basically comfort spec. because it doesn't have electric rear windows or heated seats as standard either. I don't know about the other guff, maybe heated windscreens and rain sensors were really high cost options that no-one went for.

ok mate ive reset mine to  25746

Im wondering what interior light control actually does .. mine is just the standard spec throughout.

Maybe it's the fabled 'mood lighting' that gets all the sad chavs pitching their tiny tents?  :sun:
