This question has probably been answered before, but does anyone know whether you can buy a spare wheel kit to fit into the boot of the 1.4TSi hatchback, and if so how much?

Bought mine earlier this year with no spare and only the reinflation kit. But we've already booked a holiday in France next year and I'm not sure I like the idea of all that distance with only a can for comfort.

Yes you can the spare wheel tool kit part number is 5E0093860. As for the spare wheel itself 15" part number is 5Q0601012 and for 16" 5Q0601011B

A search on Ebay might well turn up what you need at considerably less than new fro a dealer - often taken from crashed cars.  Items from and VAG make with a suitable wheel size would do.
