Spare wheels compatibility

Featured Replies

I'd like to order a spare wheel for my Octavia mk4 from 2023, but the dealer asked me for around 400 EUR for the wheel and styrofoam insert...

Do you know if all VAG wheels are compatible? The parameters of spare wheels I am after are 125/70 18", 5x112.

Is something like this compatible?

It looks like genuine product but the stickers looks slightly different than the one on Skoda website.

If not, I guess the one below is genuine for sure, especially that the price is much higher and the stickering looks similar.

According to "skoda eshop cz" the OEM part number for the foam and jack kit for the Octavia MK4 is 5E3093860B.

So by quoting 5E3093860B, you should be able to order this from any VAG parts department.

The foam and jack kit includes everything, except for the actual spare wheel. Price on the Czech website is about £53.85, so it's not expensive.

The 125/70R18 3.5Jx18 ET25.5 5/112 57.1 space saver wheel is expensive new, but they are regularly listed on ebay secondhand from about £40. However, it might be worth seeing if a full size wheel such as 205/60R16 6.5Jx16 ET46 5/112 57.1 fits, before going down the skinny space saver route. Perhaps try one of the wheels that are currently on the car, to see whether that fits. If you have a 225 such as 225/45R18, and it doesn't fit, perhaps try letting all the air out...as if the tyre had a puncture. If a 225 fits with all the air let out, an inflated 205 might fit.
