How long from production line to dealer?

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I've just found out our Octavia Vrs is now on the production line. Does anybody know how long it'll roughly take to get to the dealer?

Getting very excited now.

Assuming you are on the UK I would allow 4 weeks, but approx 1 wk factory to Emden, 1 wk Emden to UK Port and 1 to 2 weeks port to dealer. Any of these stages can and do take longer.

Thanks Robby.

Yeah sorry in the UK. That's a long time to get from Emden, I have two ships leaving Emden this weekend for Inverness, shame I couldn't get them to put it on one of them haha.

Never say never!

It really just depends how busy they are at Emden, 4 weeks is about the average time but car can wait longer at Emden depending how busy they are as they also handle vw and audi

+1 4 weeks average from start of build to delivery at the dealers.

2ish days to be built and roll out the factory doors, rest logistics - in short train from factory to emden, ship from emden to one of three uk ports (depending where the dealer is based) then getting to dealer by transporter from port.

When I was waiting for mine they said 4 weeks but mine landed in just over 2 weeks. I imagine it just depends on how busy they all are with the right number of cars going to the same area(s).

The worst bit is when it gets to the dealer and they can't get it sorted for a few days as they are too busy or people are on leave.

Hope it lands sooner rather than later Stu

Yep if you get lucky it can be here sooner...all depends on train, ports and boats

Ours is being built next week, but we won't get it until the 1st of November. We are off on a 8 week tour of Canada and the USA. - Doh!

What are the 3 UK ports? I'm waiting on an order in Northern Ireland and was wondering what route it would take to come here?

Not sure off hand....I think Sheerness is one

I was getting very little information from the dealer, they actually phoned back and said it was waiting a build date after saying it was on production.

Emailed Skoda UK and they just replied saying it is on the production line and should be with the dealer in 3 and a half weeks via Tyne and Weir.

Fingers crossed, 4 weeks was a good estimate.

If you ring SUK - you will find they are very good at giving fairly accurate information.

I always tell them that I need to sync the new car with the disposal of the old one.

Grimsby

Sheerness

and judging by post #12 it looks like the port of Tyne.

Extremely excited now, the car is in the dealers ready for collection at the weekend.

Me too, oddly mine was supposed to be built week 35, which was last week, but that's almost an impossibility.

The dealer called me last Thursday to tell me it was going to be with them today (Thursday 3rd)!!
