First drive after H&R rarb.

Featured Replies

I imagine they don't fit them as standard as they introduce oversteer, which most people might find difficult to correct or deal with. I agree it should have been fitted as standard though, as I too find it improves the handling a great deal.

Having said that, I can understand that it isn't for everyone. It's your car, to do what you like with :)

How much oversteer are we talking about? I presume you have to be really going some and provoking it to get any hint of oversteer apparent? Only reason I'm asking is that I'm tempted to order one for ours soon but as Mrs Furbytom uses it as her daily driver I don't want her going sideways into a hedge as id never live that down lol! ;-)

If she drives the same as without rarb, there should be no problem. It's just that with the rarb you want to push harder ...

Anyhow, the ESP is always looking after you ;)

She'll be fine ;)

It's not like it starts behaving like a rwd, just if you do push it hard round a corner there is a noticeable correction from the rear.

Anything past that and the and the ESP will probably intervene and save the day.  The H&R is the stiffest one you can get for the mk2 I believe- less stiff versions will flex more and not reduce the rear grip in the same what the H&R one does.  Basically it makes the whole thing a lot more neutral, (in the case of the H&R with a bias towards oversteer).

Tom, I was going hell for leather on track, got the rear tyres on the kerb, lost grip on the slippery surface, and still didn't loose it ;) ESP will save you on the track, should never come that close on the road, all you will notice is miles better handling ;)

Thought so! ;-) No way fitting a RARB introduces any significant oversteer really. She coped fine in the M135i so I'm sure if I kit the fabia out with a RARB she won't notice lol

is she could drive the BMW she wont struggle! lol... RARB makes the turn in at the front much better :)
